World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) 2011

We are now just one week away from the largest and most prestigious online poker series, the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), which will be held on between September 4th and 25th. There will be 62 events over 22 days, with large fields and huge guarantees - totally a whopping $30,000,000

The first time I saw the list of tournaments for the 2011 WCOOP I got goosebumps. I took an initial glance and saw words like 'Big Ante', 'Ante Up' and 'Shootout'. My eye's lit up. Then as I scrolled down the list and seen a PLO Knockout, a PLO H/L 6max 1r1a, a No Limit Omaha H/L, and tons of other action tournaments, I was shivering with excitement.

In the 2011 WCOOP I am planning to play almost all of the Omaha tournaments and a fair few of the Hold'Em tourneys, especially the Shootout, Knockout and Ante Up variations. I will probably end up missing a few that I want to play because it's going to be really difficult to keep a healthy sleep pattern and still be able to play everything, but I will see how it goes. Anyway, hopefully I will run good for once in my life and get me a nice shiny WCOOP Bracelet, and yes, the obscene amount of money that comes with winning a WCOOP event would also be quite nice :)

I also recently took a look at the list of satellite tournaments to the WCOOP events, and it's insane. They are running around the clock, starting every few minutes, every single day. Even the sats with as low a buyin as 40 FPPs or $1 have guaranteed WCOOP seats. It's sick to think that tons of people will be playing in WCOOP events, that they qualified for with just a single dollar, and have a chance at winning hundreds of thousands of dollars - life changing money! Even for people who can afford the buyins and will be playing the WCOOPs anyway, playing the satellites is sure to be a smart decision. At the very least I'd recommend that everyone play in the Mega Satellites that are running every Sunday with hundreds of seats guaranteed.

Playing the standard PokerStars Step SNGs is also a smart move because the Step 4 tickets can be used to play any of the many $215 WCOOP events. So you can grind up from the $7.50 Step 1 SNGs and get yourself into tournaments with seven figure prizepools. You will see me grinding the Steps in the run up to, and during WCOOP.

Here's the list of WCOOP 2011 tournaments. Let me know which events you guys are planning on playing and whether you are buying in direct of playing sats. Good luck everyone!
